And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee. Judges 16:6.

That was the seductive voice of Delilah seeking out the secret of Samson’s strength, so as to destroy him. Strangely, she did not even hide her mission. She told it plainly for any madman to understand.

Satan is always seeking to find out the source of your strength: the things that fire you up in God: your regular prayers, your evangelism, your fasting life, or the persons around you who give you strength. Why does he do that? “...to afflict thee.”

Guard your secret place. Keep your secrets from enticing and prying Delilah-partners who mean to “afflict” at last.
